Our Facilities

At Yass Little Learners, we understand the important role the environment plays in children's learning. The centre has been architecturally designed to create an environment that is safe, nurturing and stimulating where children are encouraged to discover, explore and imagine. This enables children to develop their own ideas, to discover, explore, and construct their own sense of agency.

There are 2 main buildings linked by a covered walkway. The 2 nurseries are accommodated in one building with their own dedicated outdoor environment and the older children and administration, together with a dedicated art room are accommodated in the larger building. The older children have the opportunity to explore in 2 larger outdoor environments.

Outdoor play areas include:

  • Mud kitchen
  • Chicken coop
  • Play bridges
  • Tepee’s
  • Edible garden
  • Sensory boards
  • Mirrors
  • Sandpit

Extra-Curricular Programs

Yass Little Learners provides extra-curricular programs daily for 2-5 year olds. We are pleased to announce partnerships with the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium of Music and Mighty Mites Health.

The Goulburn Regional Conservatorium’s “Melodia” program is an instrument-based program designed around the Early Years Learning Framework of play-based learning. Each week children are taken on a musical journey exploring the core concepts of music through musical games, singing, dancing, fun puppet friends, and a wide range of musical instruments which are cycled through weekly.

Instruments are an important part of learning music, providing new sensory experiences for babies as well as a fun platform for expression and play for older toddlers and young children. Melodia's aim is to provide children with a solid introduction to a wide range of musical instruments, as well as an understanding of core musical concepts so the children have a strong foundation of music to build on when they enter the next stage of learning in primary school.

Good nutrition is very important for the development and growth of young children. Our age-appropriate, balanced menus are as delicious as they are nutritional. Our menus incorporate a wide range of fruit, vegetables, legumes and proteins and focusing on meals with low GI complex carbohydrates, low added sugar and unsaturated fats. Our qualified onsite cook ensures that dietary requirements are met, including those for children with allergies, those who are vegetarian or have other special requirements. Our premises and procedures strictly comply with all food safety regulations.

We also understand that meal-times are just as important as the food. When children gather together to eat and drink, an opportunity for social and language development exists along with the support of self-help and hygiene skills.
